Car bazaar opens in the Nairobi CBD

(Correspondent) For the first time ever, there will be a car bazaar in the Nairobi Central Business District this weekend.
Organisers say the event will take place weekly from 8am to 5pm starting this Sunday (April 22) and those selling cars will be required to hand over Sh500 for a spot.
The venue will be the spacious parking grounds between GPO and Barclays Plaza, adjacent to Uhuru Highway, and it will be on a first come first serve basis.
The CBD Car Bazaar is the brainchild of Kenya Car Bazaar Ltd, in conjunction with Kenya Toyota Club, Car Planet Kenya and Acorn Business Associates.

Kenya Car Bazaar says the venue provides a strategic and central area for the car bazaar business and they have invited interested persons to court discounts here.
They are also offering professional photos with an extension of the car on sale displayed on their website.
Car bazaars are popular in Nairobi on Sundays, with the main event usually happening at the Jamhuri Grounds. Hundreds or thousands of cars start trudging in there from early morning, leaving Sh500 at the gate as they make their way in.
Kenya Car Bazaar is hoping to provide an alternative venue smack in the middle of the city centre, and they are trying to eliminate middlemen at the same time, making room for direct and slightly cheaper transactions.
The organizers say that as the event grows they will include industry players such as insurance providers, financing institutions, spare part dealers, and many more in the equation. KRA searches will also be incorporated to verify the authenticity of the car.
If someone drags you out there you can purchase a refreshment and listen to music..
